Do something unusual on new ways

It is not always easy for us to walk on new ways. We often lose ourselves in our tasks and commitments: we are focused, do what is expected of us or just want to get results efficiently. This way you will become more productive for sure. However, faster than you might think you will get on a well-trodden path that limits your flexibility more and more. This also hinders your creativity.

Leaving familiar and beloved paths can sometimes be quite difficult. But you actually want to walk new ways every now and then. It doesn’t have to be a complete reorientation. In the beginning, a small step away from your routines can be enough. Because even a small change pulls you out of your habits and your mind and creativity get reactivated. You will be challenged anew.

If you leave your old ways, new doors will open . This is the best prerequisite for coming up with new ideas. So today and preferably every day, do something that you are unfamiliar with.

What is unusual for you?

Here are a few suggestions for what you can do:

  • Sing a song – maybe for yourself, or in the office kitchen in front of a few colleagues, …
  • Brush your teeth with the other hand – it’s very easy and will probably work a little bumpy at first, but your attention will be activated immediately …
  • Walk the way to work / to the canteen / to the bus / … just a bit different: on the other side of the street, with a little detour, one the left side instead on the right side – it doesn’t matter, the main thing is to walk new ways …

You see: it is very easy. Pick out an everyday habit that you encounter in your everyday life and change it consciously. You are immediately challenged and activated. With this state, new ideas can be found more easily, because you are immediately more creative.

Try it!

You can start with something small and initially practice just for yourself. And then you should invite other people to try new ways so that you can open new doors together to discover new ideas.

Get started to get more creative!
